Back on the Juice....Chemo that is!

So, Im back on the juice today(chemo that is). I was off for two weeks because I needed more tests done on my heart. MRI was clear and fine. I do have some cardiac arrhythmia which they will keep an eye on. Im hoping this is something that will go away after chemotherapy is over. Other than that, I'm doing good. Speaking of juice…..Ive been juicing everyday, making sure not to use any raw veggies and washing my fruit with antibacterial soap then peeling it before blending. Any veggies I use have to be cooked while on Chemo so I cook my kale and spinach then freeze. This works great! My go to juice recipe is….

     *cup of kale

     *
few apple slices

*ginger root(just a small thumb nail size)

       *half an orange

       *few slices of frozen melon

    *honey

    *few cucumber slices

*file with water and blend with a nutri blast or magic bullet

This is great for anyone, not just Chemotherapy patients. Its a great way to get in more servings of your daily fruits and veggies. We all need that right?
I'm also drinking tons of water each day with lemon. Lemon is a natural detox and lord knows this chemo is toxic. The lemon helps to flush it out. Chemotherapy also tends to dehydrate you so drinking more water that ever in your life is key. So far no dehydration for me and I know its from all the water I drink daily. I also eat small bits of food every two to three hours instead of three big meals a day. This has helped soooo much with nausea. Sounds weird, but true! I keep either crackers or a banana by my bedside every night because when I wake in the morning I'm nauseous and this helps a lot…I do stretches everyday which helps with the muscle soreness and tightness. I also just started taking Epson salt and baking soda bathes every night. A great detox for lymph nodes and also great for muscle soreness. I use this as my time to pray and meditate. Everyone needs to do this especially cancer patients. Calming your mind is the best thing for your spirit and body. I've cut out dairy for the weeks I'm on Chemo because lots of chemotherapy patients become lactose intolerant so I decided to not take the chance. On my week off, I have some dairy. I also cut out red meat and sugar during my chemo weeks. These are also hard to digest and digestion is always a problem during chemotherapy. Not to mention both are just hard on your body period. I do have some if I want on my off week. A girls gotta have some pleasure during this unpleasant time. I hope this helps anyone who might be just finding out they need chemo or someone who has a loved one about to begin it. God is good! Im enjoying my good times and embracing the not so good. Staying strong in the storm!!!! Im also wigging it out! Wearing a wig that is haha! Not stressing over the hair loss as much as I thought I would. Again, God is good! I truly believe he has helped me with this and relieved me of this unneeded burden and worry. Trying out new hairstyles and making it fun! God Bless Everyone! Have a great weekend!
